"But I don't see why you can't just say I'm suffering from the flu like you did last time." Mackenzie whined to her mother as she walked down their marble hallway to her mother's bedroom.
"Dear, like you said I did that last time and besides, I thought you liked Walter!" her Mother said smiling brightly, as she fastened an elegant pearl necklace around her neck. Her outfit was understated yet fashionable, she wore a eggshell Chanel suit that made her look slimmer and taller then she was normally.
Great, a mouth breathing loser who'll gape at me the whole night.
"Moooooom I asked him where the bathroom was once at the Jenson's dinner party like five years ago. That does not mean that I'm like dying to go to dinner with him and his parents." She said exasperatedly as she walked back into her room, realizing that she was going to lose this battle. She put on a wifebeater over her purple bra and slid on low riding jeans. She slid her feet into her black conservative flat Miu Miu shoes and pulled her hair back into a low ponytail. She really was trying to look hideous, to at least minimize the drooling. She looked into her full length mirror and sighed, it was so hard being beautiful.
"All I'm asking is that you stay for an hour." she yelled from across the hall.
"But I'm supposed to meet Astrid at Bungalow 8," she looked at the digital clock that was on her nightstand, "in like 45 minutes."
She emerged from her room and walked down the hall that connected the her wing to the rest of the penthouse and then walked down the entry hall.
"I'm ready." she said smiling, knowing that her mother would more then disapprove of her outfit.
"Darling, go change now."
"No, no, no we don't want to keep Walter and the Gersons waiting." she smiled triumphantly and grabbed her Louis Vuitton clutch from the table and walked out the door with a very annoyed mother in tow.
